HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH!!

Happy Independence Day!! Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month in the U.S. From Tuesday September 15 to October 15.

I would like to give a shout out to google today for having their google doodle acknowledge the amazing fight that the Melendez family undertook when taking up arms against social injustice based on discrimination of skin color.

In the lawsuit of Mendez v. Westminister the family got the very first federal court ruling against public segregation in 1945. Not a lot of people know but this paved the way for the major U.S. Supreme Court Brown v. Board of Education.
